Casino Game Families: Rules, House Edge and Certification at MCW Casino

Casino gaming is the group of games of chance in which a randomising device decides each result and a fixed paytable decides each payout. In this article, we at MCW Casino give a short introduction to the main game families, their rules, their house edge, the technology behind them and the way we arrange them in our lobby.

Each family has its own engine. A roulette wheel, a baccarat shoe, a blackjack table, three dice, a reel machine and a crash multiplier all follow different logic. That logic sets how often a stake returns, how much it returns and what share the operator keeps over time.

Origins and Core Ideas of the Casino Floor

The word comes from Italian and once described a small house or pavilion used for social gatherings. By the nineteenth century it named licensed gaming halls across Europe. The games we offer today descend from those rooms, from Asian dice and card traditions, and from the slot machines of early twentieth-century America.

Every game belongs to a family defined by its randomiser. A wheel produces one of 37 or 38 pockets, a shoe deals from a fixed number of decks, three dice create 216 combinations, and a random number generator maps values onto reel symbols or a rising multiplier. The randomiser sets the probability of each outcome, and the paytable sets the prize.

House Edge and Return to Player

House edge is the gap between true odds and paid odds. It is expressed as the average share of each stake that a game keeps over a very large number of rounds. Return to player, or RTP, is the same figure seen from the other side, so a game with a 2.7 per cent edge has an RTP of 97.3 per cent.

Neither number predicts a single round. Both describe long-run behaviour across millions of results. We show them in each game’s rules so that members can compare titles on a fair and consistent basis.

Roulette Wheels and Their Cost

Roulette uses a numbered wheel and a ball. Bets cover single numbers, small groups, colours, odd or even, high or low, and dozens or columns. A straight-up number pays 35 to 1, a split 17 to 1, a street 11 to 1, a corner 8 to 1, a dozen 2 to 1 and every even-money bet 1 to 1.

These payouts stay the same on almost every version. What changes is the number of green zero pockets. Payouts are calculated as if the zeros did not exist, so each extra zero widens the gap between true and paid odds, and that gap is the whole source of the edge.

Single-Zero, Double-Zero and La Partage

The European wheel has 37 pockets and one zero, which gives an edge of about 2.70 per cent on standard bets. The American wheel adds a double zero for 38 pockets and an edge of roughly 5.26 per cent. Its five-number bet on 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3 is worse still at about 7.89 per cent.

French tables use the single-zero wheel and often apply La Partage or En Prison to even-money bets. Under La Partage, half of an even-money stake comes back when the ball lands on zero. That cuts the edge on those bets to about 1.35 per cent, and our digital versions name the variant in the title or rules screen.

Baccarat and Dragon Tiger

Baccarat compares two hands, Banker and Player, dealt from a shoe that usually holds eight decks. Tens and face cards count as zero, only the last digit of a total matters, and a fixed drawing table decides any third card. The only decision at the table is the choice of bet.

With a 5 per cent commission on winning Banker bets, the Banker wager carries an edge close to 1.06 per cent and the Player wager about 1.24 per cent. The Tie bet at 8 to 1 has an edge near 14.4 per cent, and tables paying 9 to 1 cut it to about 4.8 per cent. No-commission tables drop the charge but pay half on a Banker win with six, which lifts that bet slightly above the commission version.

Dragon Tiger

Dragon Tiger, a casino staple across Asia, reduces the baccarat idea to one card per side. The higher card wins and aces count low. Rounds last a few seconds, which explains the game’s popularity across Asia and its place in most live studios.

On an eight-deck shoe the main Dragon or Tiger bet carries an edge of about 3.7 per cent when half the stake is lost on a tie. The Tie bet, usually paid at 8 to 1, sits above 30 per cent, and suited-tie side bets are often higher still. Few small games show such a wide spread of costs.

Blackjack and the Role of Rules

Blackjack is the main family in which decisions change the maths. Each hand aims to finish closer to 21 than the dealer without going over, with options to hit, stand, double, split and sometimes surrender. A set of statistically optimal decisions, known as basic strategy, exists for every rule combination and is widely published.

Under favourable rules and basic strategy, the edge falls to around 0.5 per cent, one of the lowest figures in any casino. Small rule changes move it noticeably. A 6 to 5 payout on a natural instead of 3 to 2 adds roughly 1.4 percentage points, and a dealer who hits soft 17 adds about 0.2. The rules card on each of our tables is therefore the key document in this family.

Dice, Keno and Lottery Draws

Sic Bo uses three dice and a betting grid for totals, specific doubles, specific triples and single numbers. Small covers totals from 4 to 10 and Big covers 11 to 17. Both pay even money and lose on any triple, which gives an edge of about 2.78 per cent. Specific-triple bets pay large sums but often carry edges above 15 per cent.

Keno and lottery-style casino draws select numbers from a larger pool, typically 20 from 80 in keno. Payouts depend on how many chosen numbers match. These games publish their returns in the help file, and their edge is generally far higher than on wheel or card tables. Their appeal lies in long-shot prizes rather than efficient returns.

Teen Patti and Andar Bahar

Teen Patti is a three-card casino game related to British brag. Hands rank from trail, meaning three of a kind, through pure sequence, sequence, colour and pair down to high card. Our digital and live versions usually set one or two seats against a dealer hand, with side bets on the strength of the hand itself.

Andar Bahar is one of the simplest card games in the region. A single joker card is turned face up, and cards are dealt alternately to the Andar and Bahar sides until one matches its rank. Payouts depend on which side receives the first card and on the house rules, so each title lists its own edge in the rules screen.

Reel Games, Crash Rounds and Game Shows

Video reels dominate the digital casino by number of titles. A random number generator picks stopping positions on virtual reels, and a paytable converts them into prizes. Theoretical RTP usually falls between 94 and 97 per cent, calculated over hundreds of millions of simulated spins. Volatility describes how that return is spread, from frequent small wins to rare large features.

Crash games show a multiplier that climbs from 1.00x until it stops at a random point. A stake pays at the multiplier reached when it is cashed out and loses if the round ends first. Leading titles publish returns around 97 per cent, often with a provably fair hash. Wheel-based game shows add a presenter, a segmented wheel and bonus rounds, with main-bet RTP commonly near 95 to 96 per cent.

Studios, Servers and Certification

Like most online casino operators, we do not host game code ourselves. Titles run on each provider’s remote game server, and our platform connects through an integration that passes stakes and results back and forth. Live tables follow the same model and stream from dedicated studios with professional dealers and several cameras.

Aggregators sit between operators and studios and offer one connection to hundreds of providers. A single-wallet system keeps one balance across every title, so funds move from a slot to a roulette table without transfers. Game logic stays under the provider’s control at all times.

Testing Laboratories

Independent laboratories test casino random number generators and confirm that games pay in line with their declared RTP. Established names include Gaming Laboratories International, iTech Labs, BMM Testlabs and eCOGRA. Their work covers statistical randomness, paytable accuracy and the integrity of the deployed code.

Certification is tied to a specific build in a specific jurisdiction, and any change to the maths requires retesting. Many games name the testing body in the help screen, which gives published house-edge figures a verifiable basis.

How We Arrange the Casino Lobby at MCW Casino

The lobby at MCW Casino follows the same family lines. Live tables for baccarat, roulette, Dragon Tiger, Sic Bo, Teen Patti and Andar Bahar sit together, reel titles have their own area, and fishing, crash and lottery games each have separate tabs. Provider filters show a single studio’s range in one view.

Balances are held in taka, and deposits and withdrawals run through bKash, Nagad, Rocket and other local channels. We list current offers on the Promotions page rather than in game rules. Our casino games are for adults aged 18 and over where local law permits, and the account area includes deposit limits and self-exclusion.

Summary

Seen family by family, our catalogue is a set of distinct mathematical products. Banker bets and well-ruled blackjack sit at the low-edge end, single-zero roulette and Sic Bo Big or Small sit a little higher, reels and game shows follow, and long-shot side bets, keno and specific triples sit at the costly end.

Rules screens, RTP panels and laboratory certificates remain the authoritative source for every figure. At MCW Casino, we present these casino families side by side under one taka wallet.
